Rules
HUC abides by the 11th
edition rules. Check out the UPA
website as well. All HUC players are expected to know the rules.
Start Time
Summer starts at 6:30pm (Fall starts at 6:00pm) with a 15 minute grace period. If the team you
are playing does not have a full team by 6:45pm, stand on the line and
begin counting a point against them for every 5 minutes they are late
(i.e. score will be 1-0 at 6:50 pm). If a team cannot field 6 players
(including 3 of each gender) by 7:00pm they will default the game, receive
zero points and zero spirit points.
Foot Blocks - Foot blocks will be left up to the captains.
Zone Defense - Zone defense is allowed in all divisions.
Gender Ratio
The receiving team is responsible for setting the gender ratio. The ratio is 4:3, Male or Female.Captains have the right to discuss, before the game, whether or not they are expected to match gender.
Aggressive Behaviour
Aggressive play is strictly prohibited. Other team sports (soccer, rugby,
football) encourage players to "go hard" for the ball and tolerate
the resulting contact as an acceptable part of the game. This is not acceptable
in the Hamilton Ultimate Club. Players who routinely play aggressively
will be suspended from the league. Captains who allow individuals to play
aggressively risk team suspension. All contact is a foul and should be
called by one of the players.
No Fighting. Zero Tolerance.
A shoving match is interpreted as a fight. Automatic season suspension
for offending player(s). It is both captain's responsibility to report
incidents to the league convener or director.
Rainouts
To allow for changing conditions, rainouts may not be called until just
a few hours before game time. Check the website for last minute changes
if you suspect a field will be rained out. Games that are cancelled for
weather are not made up unless the League Convener requests it, in which
case they will assign the field. All such games must be completed at least
two weeks before playoffs. If a game was partially completed and captains
find a mutually agreable date to make up the game the score will begin
where it previously left off. The result can be entered under the originally
scheduled date in Captains Corner.
Reporting Scores
Scores must be reported through the website by BOTH captains within 48
hours of the end of the game.You can access the Captains Corner by clicking

Insurance Coverage
HUC is covered by the ODSA. All players sign up online or fill out this waiver. The data will be uploaded into HUC's system every month. Players names will not appear in the captains corner until the upload by the webmaster is complete.
